California, Here We Come -- Pt. 1, A Family Vacation

We traveled to Southern California in July, for a combination wedding/reunion/family vacation.  We left the camper -- and Royal! -- behind, and flew out to Orange County, this time.  Alan and I rented a house in Capistrano Beach for the 13 of us!

We all met for dinner at The Surfin' Cowboy in Dana Point.  Zach joined us, and shocked us with his new haircut.

The next morning, Alan met up with all his siblings . . .

We all went over to Capistrano Beach (about a mile from the house), the morning of the wedding.  The weather was untypical for California -- gray, overcast, and cool.  But, that didn't stop the grandkids from getting in the water . . .

The brothers . . .

On Sunday, we spent the day at Doheny State Beach, which was a great beach, but it was even cooler and grayer than the day before.  We still enjoyed ourselves . . .

It's always the right weather for Corn Hole . . .

Zach was the only adult to venture into the cold water . . .

Dinner at Harpoon Henry's . . .

Full moon that evening at Dana Point Harbor . . .

The next morning, we woke up to a beautiful sunny day.  Too bad most everyone had to fly back to Denver that day . . .

We took a stroll on Capo Beach, before taking Ben and Leandra to the airport . .

Later on that week, Alan and I stayed in San Clemente, and took a walk out on the Pier . . .

We liked San Clemente so much that we stopped here again, on our way back from Temecula . . .
